Barbados is a warm and inviting country in many ways, and it is an established holiday destination for various reasons; however, one main factor in particular is the favourable climate. As with most tropical islands, the coastal regions are warmer, and these are where the main holiday resorts can be found. Barbados is divided into 11 parishes, each offering unique experiences but generally sharing the same delightful weather patterns.
The majority of holidaymakers and property investors head to the coastal areas, so we will concentrate on those regions for the weather and climate reports.
Barbados enjoys on average 3,000 hours of sunshine per year with warm spring times, hot summers, and mild winters. A common misconception is that Barbados does not have seasonal variation; it does. However, the climate is typically tropical with abundant sunshine, warm temperatures during the winter months, and moderate rainfall.

The Coastal region – Bridgetown, Speightstown, Oistins, and Holetown The coastal regions’ average air temperature in the winter is 24°C and reaches 30°C in the summer. In coastal areas, the winter sea temperature is 27°C, and during the summer, it is 29°C.

The summer season in Barbados is from June to November, with the best months to visit being February to April for maximum sunshine and the most comfortable temperatures. However, you may find sightseeing and outdoor activities enjoyable year-round due to the consistently warm climate. If you prefer slightly cooler weather, consider visiting during the winter months from December to February.
